7th Chartered Accountants CA Convocation

7th Chartered Accountants (CA) Convocation 

The Institute organized the 7th Chartered Accountants convocation on 30th January 2025 in Kathmandu. The convocation ceremony commenced with a welcome address by President CA. Prabin Kumar Jha, who highlighted the significance of conducting the program in English. He shared a tale from his recent visit to Pakistan, where he was informed that the activities of the Institute were being closely followed. The President commended the Institute’s efforts, emphasizing its growing global relevance. He extended his congratulations to the newly qualified members, urging them to remain adaptable and forward-thinking in today’s competitive market. He encouraged them to specialize in their chosen areas, reminding them that this achievement marks the beginning of their professional careers.

The keynote speech was delivered by CA. Nawal Kishor Yadav, former auditor at the United Nations. He shared his personal educational and professional journey, offering it as inspiration for the new members. He highlighted the importance of being courageous in their professional endeavors, narrating an incident during his time at the United Nations. He emphasized that independence is the hallmark of the profession and urged the newly qualified members to maintain it, while continuing to dedicate themselves to their work.

Certificates and awards were then presented to the winners of the quiz and public speaking contests, as well as to the student with the highest marks in the Institute’s examinations and convocation certificate being provided to the graduated student

The ceremony proceeded with an address by the Chief Guest, Dr. Keshar Jung Baral, Vice Chancellor of Tribhuvan University. Dr. Baral discussed the crucial role of professional accountants in promoting governance and stressed the importance of maintaining professionalism, which he noted is increasingly being eroded. He also assured the attendees that Tribhuvan University is currently reviewing the process of granting equivalence to the Chartered Accountant qualification.

The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by CA. Nil Bahadur Saru Magar, who congratulated the newly qualified members for their perseverance and hard work. He encouraged them to dream big and believe in themselves as they continue to progress in their careers.
